Mike and Alison from Audlem brought their 2018 red T6 to VW Worx for a conversion. The VW Transporter is used as Mike's everyday work van but they also wanted to be able to use it for weekends away too.
Mike and Alison had previously bought some side windows which they asked us to fit as part of the conversion. Externally, we also fitted a mains hook up socket and a new, bright LED strip to the Fiamma wind out awning to provide light when working underneath it on a dull day or when sitting out on those warm summer evenings.
Inside we fitted a 'Rusty Lee' M1 Tested, TUV approved 3/4 Rock'n'Roll bed which we finished to match the front Ford Galaxy swivel seats that Mike and Alison had previously bought. These were trimmed in black leatherette with aerated centres finished with a white double cross stitching.
The furniture included plenty of cupboards for storage, including a wardrobe with rail, and doors to the front and rear bed boards allowing easy access to the storage area underneath the seats. Cabinets were finished in dark striped lightweight ply with white sparkle tops.
The table, which is stored in the tailgate for travelling, clips onto a sliding rail on the cabinets for convenience. The inside of the roof was insulated and finished in our unique cross pattern quilted headlining to match the seats with plenty of 'touch' LED lights.
The heavy duty vinyl flooring was fitted with tie down points for Mike to use for work and finished with a VW Worx rug for comfort when camping.
A diesel heater was fitted underneath the camper with an outlet behind the drivers seat and a high level control fitted next to the Zig unit and other switches for convenience.
As with all of our campers, there are plenty of power outlets, both 240v and USB for charging mobile devices. The CNC cut cabinets also include our trademark wine rack which is also backlit with an LED strip. This unit is adaptable as the left hand door can be removed for fitting a fridge at a later date, we have fitted an electric supply ready for when that happens.
Side access to the wardrobe is available when the rock'n'roll bed is in lowered and the tailgate is shut so you can access your clothes at night too.
